Try this.  Make up a lead which goes from the HT connection on the  coil directly to one of the spark plugs.  Then if you connect the  small wires from  the  coil to the correct voltage power supply, as you turn the power on and off you should see if the coil can or cannot produce a spark.

Hence this will narrow down the  problem to the  other components. ie. ignition  switch, wiring, contact breakers (points), distributor and distributor arm.

If the  coil is getting hot then current must be flowing through it (ie contact breakers closed).  It is the change in electrical state of the  coil which makes the  spark.

However, if you&#039;ve replaced everything what is wrong?  I guess the  most likely thing to be wrong is the  distributor arm and cap.

You haven&#039;t got a 6 volt coil and a 12 volt battery have you?</description>

		<description>I have a 1958 Massey TO-35.  It stopped running so I replaced the spark plugs, condenser, points, coil, Dist.
cap, ignition switch.  I replaced each one after the previous did not solve the problem.  I replaced the ignition wires yesterday.  I have no spark, and I replaced everything exactly the same way it came out.  I even wrote the connection on masking tape and secured it to the wire so as not to confuse the problem later.  At this point I still have no spark coming from the coil.  The second coil became very hot, so I reordered a
replacement without sucess.  I have had several back-yard mechanics look at it and have them all baffeled.
What is my problem?</description>

The starter was running, but the engine wouldn&#039;t catch.  After about 3-4 minutes of repeated attempts, the starter apparently stopped working.  When I press the start button, I can hear/feel the Starter Solenoid Switch click.  There is current at this point going to the starter.  I let it sit over night and tried again with same result.  Solenoid click but nothing else.  Plenty of juice still in the battery.

What would you recommend I try next to diagnose?
