regarding the Massey 550 Hydraulic Selector valve…. i broke mine on Saturday – the lever came off in my hands, does anyone know where to get one.. i have seached for one online but cannot seem to find one. Any help much appreciated

Hi Paul,

Are you trying to operate a single acting ram with a double acting spool? If so you will need to connect the spare outlet from the spool valve to the outlet from the spool block that goes back to the reservoir.

Alternatively you would need a valve with float position or a convertable valve like the original MF Kontac valves that were fitted to the 500 series tractors.

Hi have just piped up a spool block on a massey 550 and beam goes down moaning due to poor oil return,when i pull lever back ,would i be pressurising blanking plug port ,or should slice be modified to let oil go back with thanks paul

Hi Eddy,

The hydraulics control lever is down by the right hand side of the seat.
The TE 20’s only had a single clutch, so the hydraulic pump only works when the clutch is released (either in or out of a transmission gear). Therefore, the hydraulics will only work when either the tractor is travelling (forwards or backwards) or when the tractor is stationary, out of gear and the clutch pedal is released.

Which levers do you use to raise gear on the back of the of a Massey Ferguson TE20. Ia m trying raise up a grass cutter. Thanks in advance
