Anyone out there,I recently bought a 1978 Massey 550.

The rear hydrolics are stuck at up position permanently.

I have been advised it is a stuck valve

Is it a major operation to remove the stuck valve and replace

with a new one. Thanks Bill

Hi Paul,

Are you trying to operate a single acting ram with a double acting spool? If so you will need to connect the spare outlet from the spool valve to the outlet from the spool block that goes back to the reservoir.

Alternatively you would need a valve with float position or a convertable valve like the original MF Kontac valves that were fitted to the 500 series tractors.
