VOLUME ONE : ‘Ferguson – Building the Dream’

Four films make up Volume One. The wonderful original colour footage of the two main films, showing the Ford Ferguson 9N at work and the manufacture of the Ferguson TE20 at the famous Banner Lane factory in Coventry, gives an unusual glimpse into the world of Massey Ferguson and farming at this time.

Volume One also includes “Machines and the Farm” from the 1960’s featuring the Ferguson – Brown and “The Story of the Ferguson System”. Running time – 100 mins, presented by John Stovell.

VOLUME TWO : ‘The Little Grey Fergie’

Volume Two concentrates on the Ferguson TE20 tractor, often lovingly referred to as “The Little Grey Fergie”. Five films from the late forties and early fifties transport us back to a time when farming life was very different from today. The TE20 is shown at work all over the British Isles using a range of Ferguson implements and equipment carrying out a multitude of traditional tasks. We also witness the auspicious occasion of the building of the 200,000th Little Grey Fergie in 1951. Running time – 82 mins, presented by John Stovell

Volume Three : ‘The TE20 Takes On The World’

….. looks once again at the famous Ferguson TE20 with four films showing just how versatile the Little Grey Fergie really was, with films shot in countries around the world and in Britain. A rather poignant film looks in detail at the terrible aftermath of the 1953 floods on the east coast and how the Ferguson TE20 came to the rescue. In addition we see how the little fergie was used as a road roller by the Twose Company.

Whatever your specific interest, you will be certain to find something fascinating in this unique series as we move from vintage machines, through the classic era and then to the sophisticated machines of today. Running time – 92 min.

Volume 4 : Massey Harris – World of Power

This new, exciting series of programmes digs deep into Massey Ferguson’s film archive, bringing to the screen rare and original films, depicting machines from the 1930’s right up to the present day. The series builds into a unique record, of the impact Massey Ferguson and its predecessors made to agriculture the world over.

In Volume Four we take a look at the Canadian firm Massey Harris which merged with Ferguson in the 1950s. The two films in this programme show Massey Harris tractors, implements and combine harvesters at work all over the globe, as well as a close look at the company’s tractor range. These films were shot in colour and date from the 1940’s giving an exceptional glimpse of farming practices sixty years ago!
