This year the money raised for Wessex Cancer Trust is to be dedicated to the memory

of the late Sylvia Barnes MBE

Sylvia Barnes MBE was married for 50 years to Gerald the well known Hampshire farmer until his death in 1981.  She was one of show jumping loyal and dedicated supporters who was described as a legend in her own right.  She bought up 4 children – Tom, Mary, Janet & Sheila, all of whom competed very successfully.  Sylvia was then involved in judging and declarations all over the country, from the Royal Highland to Hickstead. She did this until she was 90, travelling around in her well known caravan with her Dash hounds and Cigars.  She passed away in May 2008, aged 96
