We’ve had a request from Alan, looking for the current whereabouts of his father’s Fordson Dexta and Fordson County Crawler. Here is what Alan writes… I’m rebuilding my Fordson Dexta engine (diesel) and need some info on the cylinder liners. I’ve just removed 3 seized pistons and pressed out the cylinder liners. The question is should I use high temp loctite 620 on the new liners when pressing them in. The older liners presumably didnt use it and are a [...] Finding the year of manufacture for a Dexta is a complex process and sources of information differ. The serial number of the Fordson Dexta is stamped on the flange between the engine and clutch housing on the left hand side of the tractor. The castings codes (clutch casting, rear axle casting, gearbox casting, hydraulic lift [...] The clutch release bearing on the Fordson Dexta ( Ford Dexter ) is pre-lubricated and so should not require any maintenance during servicing.
