The Cambridge Spring Sale is the largest colective vintage tractor sale in Europe with 3400 lots on offer, including over 400 tractors. The highlight of the day was a highly collectable 1967 Northrop 5006, one of only 4 made at the Blackburn factory using the Ford 2703E engine. A Staffordshire collector took it home for a staggering £60,000.
Northrop 5006, £60,000
41 tractors were entered from the same vendor (Geoff and John Goodman, emigrating) and all 41 were sold. The remainder of their collection will be sold at the July sale. The Goodman’s 1957 David Brown 50D was the first to be auctioned at £27,000. They had a Fowler FD2 crawler reach £6,700 and a 1921 Celtrac Type F four cylinder petrol/parafin crawler for £6,800. Another lot which created interest from the father and son was a 1948 David Brown Thresherman at £3,500.
