Your Ford serial number info is veryeasy to follow. However, along with a number of other experts it fails to aknowledge that this series was also built in 1975. I have a Force 3000 numbered 5A09B, thus January 9th. 1975 on the day shift. The serial number is B948007. Is this one of the last?
Regards Bob4
The Vintage Tractor Engineer says:March 27th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
Bob,Thanks for adding your tractor’s serial number, giving some additional information about serial numbers and informing us about the continuation of the building of these tractors into 1975.
Presumably you know that your serial number (B948007) is one of the higher numbers and thus it is a 1975 machine. Do you know if there is any distinction between 1965 and 1975 in the ‘5′ of 5A09B ?5
Bob Callaby says:March 28th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
There does not appear to be any distinction. Perhaps they meant to stop in 1974 but forgot to turn the tap off!

My stepson and I just purchased a used Ford 5000 and from the model number I believe it was produced in 1969 (E1014C, 9L03B, C254448). Does the serial number seem to be in the correct range for a 1969 5000?9
Vintage Tractor Engineer says:April 11th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
David,This gentleman has a June 1969 USA built 5000 with a serial number of C241358, so your serial number fits in with the November 1969 date for your tractor.
1968 tractors start at serial number C190200
1969 tractors start at serial number C226000VTE

Can you tell me what LCG stands for? I’m working on a 1969 4000, LCG, gas, live 540 pto, 8 speed and can’t figure out what it is.Rick
11
The Vintage Tractor Engineer says:April 16th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Rick,I believe that LCG stands for Low Centre of
Gravity.
The LCG models should have smaller rear wheels and shorter drop arms on the front axle than the standard models. I think some of these
tractors were numbered 4110 and most of them were used for amenities work for city councils or golf courses where mowing work was to be done on steep bank sides, so many of the tractors were on turf tyres.12

Can anyone help, please ?

Nick From France says:October 23rd, 2008 at 6:39 pm
Hello again !This is for Dirk :
5F19B should mean 1965 – June – the 19th – Day
I was told today that there once was a Ford Factory building tractors in Anvers (Belgium) that does no longer exists.
I also found another person who has a serial number begginning with a “A103 …” identified as the serial number on his Ford 2000 registration document.
And amazingly, this person lives in… belgium !
I guess the machines build in this factory weren’t marked the same way as the US or GB machines ?28
Nick From France says:October 23rd, 2008 at 6:48 pm
This is for Mike (post#19 here above) :C means the 60’s decade and 7 is the year.
so : C7 means 1967(and further : 6015 means “engine block for tractors”, 7006 means “gearbox”, AH and AK are the versions)

I recently purchased a CD from eBay that has all the parts and numbers as well as pictures of the 2000-7000 Fords. After a trip to the Ford dealer this past weekend, I found that at least the numbers Ichecked were the actual part numbers.

I’m a bit confused here. I just bought a Ford tractor that was advertized as 1965 Ford 2000 gas 3 cyl. It was painted over with yellow as a highway maintainace tractor (before this individual bought it), so you cannot see the Ford 2000 decal on the cowling. Grill was missing. The numbers behind the starter are as follows:
21C23C

Hello, Can you help ?
I have bought a Sanderson PM60 TC. Rough Terrain Forklift.
This is a PM60TC Serial No CT6203L2187.
This is built on FORD underworks with a 3 cyl. diesel.
I am looking for any service / maintainance manuals, if not for the Truck then for the Ford content.
Informed opinion suggests the basis is Ford 4000 Tractor.
The Engine block is marked T6-05NN20156
The Transmission case ” NW D9NN-7009 GA
The Transmission has High and Low ratio on one lever
and Forward / reverse on another lever. It has a foot pedal which works as conventional clutch. I have been looking on the web. One forum mentioned that TC in the Sanderson designation stands for “Torque Converter”. I did’nt think you would expect a “clutch pedal” if this was the case ?
Any sugestions ?

My problem is that how do I know if its a county 4000four or just a conversion done at some point by ford. Also how much is it worth any info would be great.
I’ve got a backhoe that I’m trying to identify. I was told that it was a 1972 3400, but I’m leaning towards it being a 4500. The numbers are as follows:
